This week is all about love, connection, and meaningful learning through play. From name practice to counting, movement, and keepsakes you’ll treasure, these activities are simple to prep and full of heart.
Cut out the heart pieces with the letters in your child’s name, along with a face heart, legs, and antennae. Help your little one glue the caterpillar together in order, talking through each letter as you go and reminding them that the letters spell their name. A fun, hands-on way to build name recognition while creating something adorable.
Use either the number cards or two dice to get started. Have your preschooler count the cookies as they place them into the jar, then repeat as many times as they’d like. A faith-based option is included if you’d like to incorporate that. When the counting fun is done, you can glue the cookies in place to turn this activity into a cute Valentine’s Day craft.
Cut out the scavenger hunt cards and hide them around the house. As your preschooler finds each item, they’ll check it off their list. This activity gets little bodies moving while keeping them focused and engaged.
Paint your child’s hand and press it in place of the O in LOVE on the keepsake page. You can make extras to give as Valentines to grandparents, friends, and family—such a sweet way to share the love.
Shape a toilet paper roll or paper towel roll into a heart and use it as a stamp for painting. These heart prints make beautiful artwork and can also be turned into homemade Valentines for loved ones.
Mix Very Berry Cheerios, pink freeze-dried yogurt pieces and/or yogurt-covered raisins, plus dried strawberries for a yummy, pink, toddler-approved snack that pairs perfectly with this theme.
A fun and festive Valentine’s Day read that little ones love.
A catchy song that gets kids moving while reinforcing letter recognition.

💗 Love & Kindness – Week 2 Activities
This week continues the celebration of kindness with playful matching, movement, and hands-on learning. From letter games to shape practice, cutting skills, and a sweet snack, these simple activities make learning fun while building important preschool skills.
🎁 Literacy: Feed the Gift Box or Heart Letter Memory
Option 1: Create the Gift Box by cutting a hole in the top of a small box and attaching the gift picture with the mouth opening lined up to the hole. Place uppercase letters in a face-down stack and scatter the lowercase letters around the table or floor. Flip an uppercase card, have your preschooler find the matching lowercase letter, and “feed” the pair to the gift box — it only eats matching letters!
Option 2: Cut out the heart letter cards and separate them along the lines. Using 3–10 letters at a time (depending on your child’s skill level), turn the pieces upside down and play a memory game matching uppercase and lowercase letters.
🍫 Math: Chocolate Shape Matching
Cut out the chocolate pieces and have your preschooler match each one to the correct shape spot in the chocolate box. This activity strengthens shape recognition and visual matching skills while keeping the Valentine theme fun and engaging.
💓 Active Play: Matching Color Hearts
Cut out the colored hearts and place them around the room, either out in the open or slightly hidden. As your preschooler finds the matching color pairs, have them complete the movement command that goes with the set. A fun way to combine color recognition with active play.
✂️ Fine Motor: Cutting Practice
Cut the pages along the solid lines to create strips, then let your little one practice cutting along the dotted lines. This simple activity helps strengthen hand muscles and builds scissor confidence.
🎲 Game: Valentine’s Day Bingo
Cut out the calling cards, mix them up, and place them face down. Give each player a different board. As you flip over the calling cards, have your preschooler place a marker or coin on the matching picture. The first player to get three in a row in any direction wins.
🥣 Snack: Valentine’s Day Yogurt Parfait
Mix 1 cup of vanilla yogurt with ½ teaspoon of strawberry extract for a naturally pink color and flavor. Layer with chopped strawberries and granola, then top with honey and festive sprinkles for a sweet Valentine treat.
📖 Book: Little Blue Truck’s Valentine
A sweet story about friendship and kindness that fits perfectly with this week’s theme.
🎵 Song: “If You Love Me and You Know It”
Sing and move along to this fun action song while practicing expressions of love and kindness.

Love & Kindness Theme – Week 3 This week is filled with playful activities designed to build early literacy, math, creativity, and kindness skills while keeping learning hands-on and fun. Literacy – Flip & Cover
Cut out the letter cards, mix them up, and place them face down. As your child flips a card over, have them cover the matching letter using a heart candy or another small object like coins. You can also skip printing and simply call out letters for your child to find and cover for an easy, no-prep option. Math – Counting Clip Cards
Cut out the cards and have your preschooler count the hearts, then place a clothespin on the correct number. Children can also color the correct number or cut off the incorrect ones. Choose numbers 1–10 or 1–20 depending on your child’s skill level. Craft – Love Monster
Cut out the pieces and let your little one create their very own Love Monster! Kids can mix and match the pieces however they like, making each monster unique and full of personality. Fine Motor – “I Love You to Pieces” Valentines
Tear construction paper into small pieces and glue them inside the heart to create a sweet keepsake Valentine for loved ones. Two printable options are included: with a border and without a border. Sensory Play – Play Dough Mats
Roll play dough into “snakes” and shape them into the pictures and letters on the mats. This activity strengthens little hands while reinforcing letter recognition. Snack – Heart-Shaped PB&J
Use a heart-shaped cookie cutter to make a classic PB&J (or any favorite sandwich) extra festive. Let your little one help press the cutter into the bread for a fun hands-on moment. Book Recommendation: “My Magical Feelings” (clickable)
Song Recommendation: “I Have a Friend” (clickable) This week blends learning, creativity, and kindness in simple, joyful ways—perfect for meaningful moments together while helping your preschooler grow their confidence and skills. 💕
